ABOUT
cultureclub.design is a design studio that explores the possibilities of spatial experience, form, and spatial composition. Rooted in the experience of operating “Culture Club,” a bar and gallery in Nakazakicho, Osaka, the studio works across the design and direction of places where different cultures intersect, including food, art, music, craft, and events. In spatial design, cultureclub.design goes beyond organizing function and circulation. The studio reads the memory of a place, the texture of materials, the way light enters, and the behavior of people, constructing the overall impression of a space through these elements. It also takes existing uses and structures and views them from a different perspective, making this approach a central axis of its practice in order to create new viewpoints within space.
cultureclub.designは、2023年に設立された大阪・関西を拠点にするデザインスタジオ。大阪・中崎町でバーとギャラリーを併設した「カルチャークラブ」を運営した経験を起点に、飲食、アート、音楽、工芸、イベントなど、異なる文化が交わる場所のデザインとディレクションを行う。 空間設計では、機能や動線の整理にとどまらず、その場所に残る記憶、素材の質感、光の入り方、人の振る舞いを読み取りながら、場全体の印象を組み立てる。既存のものが持つ用途や構造を別の角度から捉え、空間の中に新たな視点を生み出すことを制作の軸しており、近年は、店舗設計だけでなく、展示、アートオブジェの制作、イベントディレクションなど、多種多様なプロジェクトを手がけている。
